I know this a bit of a departure from my “only romance” books rule but it’s a close fit given the pages of this whimsical coloring book were inspired by romances. I don’t do a lot of coloring but from time to time I like the break that it gives my brain. Similar to working with beads playing with colors on a page allows me to be creative but in a different way.
Love Between The Lines is a nice mix of simple and complex designs. Some of the adult coloring books I’ve seen on the market make me twitch just thinking about coming up with all the different color combinations because of tiny details in the patterns. This one did not make me nervous at all. It has been easy to work in and has several cute designs. Even the book references (the title and author are noted) are worked in without detracting from the picture overly much. Although, it does seem clear on most pages that the pattern was created and the book info added after. Which is fine – I prefer having a pretty pattern instead of an advertisement that has a picture around it.
The only thing I didn’t care for was the size of the book. Not that it’s larger than normal – I’ve seen many coloring books that large – it’s just personal preference. I’d just rather have one that I can drop into a purse and go. But when I’m home, the size is not cumbersome.
Overall I would recommend it.
