Snarkology Halloween Hop

Snarkology Halloween Blog Hop 2015

Welcome to my stop on the Snarkology Halloween Hop.

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. The costumes, the candy, the decorations. So much fun!

I started taking out my holiday supplies as soon as I flipped the calendar over to October. The boxes came out of the attic and I began rummaging through costume pieces so I could decide what I wanted to dress as this year. Sadly, I always feel compelled to make new pieces or entire costumes every year. My collection has grown even though I’ve had to give away some of the pieces the kids have now outgrown.

Thankfully decorations can’t be outgrown (only broken)! And like costumes, something new always ends up in the box at the end of the season.

Here are a few of my favorite do-it-yourself decorating ideas:

  • Milk jug ghosts – Take an empty milk jug (cleaned and dried), paint a ghost or pumpkin face on the non-handle side with a black sharpie, then add a string of white lights
  • Spooky eyes – Collect several empty toilet paper rolls. Cut out a pair of eyes along one side of each roll. When you’re ready to display them, set them in bushes or plants with an activated glow stick inside.
  • Floating ghosts – Drape long pieces of cheese cloth over a styrofoam ball. You can vary the size of ball. You can also leave the cloth soft and drapy or harden it with starch.
  • Spider jars – Drop a battery powered tea light or a small glow stick into a mason jar, fill the jar with either cotton balls or quilting batting then push one plastic spider into the fiber and add the jar lid.
  • Caged monster – Decorate a worn pallet to look as if it is the front of a cage. You can make mannequin or skeleton hands stick out between the slats and add bloody hand prints or spatters. Maybe even a warning sign. Chain is a nice touch too!

What DIY projects have you done to get into the spirit?

In keeping with the spooky-ookie Halloween season I’m celebrating my shifter romance, Your Wild Heart. It’s part of the Black Hills Wolves series. If you like sexy wolf shifters you’re bound to find something just for you in this exciting multi-author series.

About Your Wild Heart:

Wildlife biologist, Isabelle Acker, meets sexy park ranger, Wyatt Powell. His Wolf sits up and takes notice of her, but when he learns why she came to the park, he becomes wary of her intentions. After all, as far as the general population knows, there are no wolves in the Black Hills.

Ordered by his Alpha to keep an eye on the smoking-hot biologist, Wyatt finds it difficult to keep his hands to himself. He wants to possess her, to share everything about his life, but that might endanger the Tao Pack. But the attraction proves too great and, unable to deny his Wolf, he takes her with a passion he didn’t know he possessed.

However, their sexual bliss is short-lived, and on the night of the full moon, more than one secret is revealed. When all is said and done, they must each decide—is what they have between them true love or just hot sex?
