I’m excited to have a friend of mine and fellow Emerald Isle Fantasy author, Louisa Masters, drop in today. Her EIF book just came out and I’m thrilled to help debut it!
First, enjoy this quick interview with Louisa…
How do you reward yourself when you finish writing a book?
For me, writing is both amazingly rewarding and intensely exhausting. I find it difficult to let go of a book – there is always just one more thing I want to check, polish or adjust, but once I’ve typed the last line I like to take time away from the computer. Read a book for pleasure (gasp!), find something entertaining on TV, or have a mindless conversation with someone I love. And, of course, all of those must be accompanied by food! Something decadently unhealthy that doesn’t belong in the everyday diet.
Who is your favorite author(s)?
I could never pick one! It varies greatly depending on which genre I’m in the mood for. I have a long list of auto-buy authors, as in, I will literally buy their books without even reading the blurb first. I did recently get the chance to meet Kristen Ashley, who is right up at the top of the list, and that was an amazing experience.
What was the inspiration for Irish Allure?
I was chatting with some exceptionally talented authors about the possibility of setting a series in an Irish castle-turned-hotel where magic happens—Castle Tullamore. For some reason, whenever I think of castle hotels I think about what great locations they are for events. Soooo… romantic magic Irish castle hotel plus major event (wedding!) equals oodles of possibilities! I once had a brief interlude with a charming Irishman, so an Irish hero was an extremely attractive idea!
What are you working on next?
I’m playing with the idea of a duology about two friends, who are sick of traditional dating and decide to take the plunge into the worlds of online and speed dating. There’s lot of scope for interesting situations there, but it’s very much a concept-in-progress, so we’ll see how it goes!
Blurb for Irish Allure:
Jillian is planning a wedding for the bride from hell—who suddenly decides to move the event to Ireland with less than a month to go. Lucky for Jillian, the groom’s brother is available to lend a hand.
Sexy, charming Fin clearly has more on his mind than just helping Jillian with the wedding. But she knows Bridezilla will not tolerate the hired help consorting with her future brother-in-law. Jillian can’t risk being blackballed, so it’s seriously hands off Fin, no matter how irresistible he is and how energetically he pursues her. If only Castle Tullamore weren’t so romantic—and if only she could stop tearing off his clothes every time she gets into that antique elevator with him.
