Now – enjoy this short interview with A.C.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m honestly a very quiet person, mostly introverted.  I hear that might be a writer thing(?)  I love ancient civilizations and cultures, particularly those bordering the Mediterranean.  Digging into the origins of things, like folklore and mythology, is one of my favorite pastimes.  My family and friends will be the first to tell you that my brain is full of useless information.  I can say hello and goodbye in 7 different languages, not counting English and a few others that I may only know swear words in.  I always seem to pick up on those first for some reason!

Who are some of your favorite authors and/or books?

Going by genre, they are…

Fiction/Fantasy: Mercedes Lackey.

Erotica/Supernatural: Gena Showalter.

Crime/Suspense: J.D. Robb.

Contemporary Romance: Nora Roberts.

Anything she could ever possibly write under any pseudonym: Anne Rice.

Additionally, some of the books that have always stayed with me are Anno Dracula by Kim Newman, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, The Cutler Series by V.C. Andrews and The Thief of Always by Clive Barker.

What was the inspiration for The Zen Lounge?

I honestly wish I had a far more interesting answer than it was just an idea that popped into my mind, but that pretty much covers it.  Undoubtedly, there was some influence by all of the other romance novels I was reading at the time, as well as the countless erotic e-books I was reviewing for a friend of mine.

What qualities do you look for in a good hero?

I happened to have written a quote for my blog that might best answer that…  “Heroes are easy to flesh out. There’s already a universally accepted template in place for them. I would much rather create a villain that seduces the heart and mind with his shoddy attempts at rightness; that you can’t help rooting for, despite his appearance to be a genuine lost cause.”

My favorite character trait of a hero is “unapologetic.”  It’s probably their integrity, coupled with an alpha dose of confidence, too, but I always fall for the heroes that totally own their screwed up parts.

What’s next for you?

Next is my first BDSM novel, tentatively titled Euphoria.  It’s set in a fantasy world that is half ancient civilization (most akin to Greece or Rome) and half modern day city, but where the rules that govern the BDSM lifestyle and dynamics apply to everyone and very little is considered taboo.  It will be published by Red Sage sometime near the beginning of 2016 (I think).

I’m also currently working on the sequel to The Zen Lounge and a couple of naughty, supernatural stories. (Think wolves and demons and Succubi, oh my…)

Welcome to the Zen Lounge, twenty-one floors of customizable carnal pleasures to fulfill your wildest fantasies. Even in the year 2192, it shouldn’t exist but Voryk Kade simply couldn’t ignore the urge to take a closer look. What he finds is a woman bent on ruining everything he’d ever believed to be true. She holds the key to all of Voryk’s darkest, neediest desires and despite her silence, provides the proof behind his belief that there is something far seedier going on under the high-end gloss of professional eroticism.

Enlisting the help of his closest friends, Voryk’s only goal is to keep Nexlana safe, naked and his. Unfortunately, she was already someone’s favorite pet and when Master comes calling, it’s with a vengeance and the intent of never letting her slip away again. Haunted pasts continue to resurface, only Nexlana’s might be far deadlier than any of them could have guessed—connections between her, arson, an assassination and a cold case no one ever wanted to delve into again. To stop the worst case scenario from taking place, they must finally figure out just who in the hell the Master really is.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Nex just held onto him for a moment.  When she pulled back, she kissed him softly, if not a little seductively, before smiling and settling back in her seat.

“Yeah,” Voryk exhaled, his blood humming with the passion that never went dormant between them.  “Then there’s that.  You couldn’t possibly ever make me get tired of that.”

Laughing, Nex just smiled knowingly at him.

“In fact,” he grinned, as he started the car forward again.  “It might help you learn faster if for every question and answer, we celebrate by having sex.”

Nex laughed again.  “You think so?” She asked, giving him another seductive look.

“Mm, you keep doing that, love, we’re not going to make it down this road much further,” Voryk swore sincerely.

“What does belle amore mean?” Nex asked, instead.

“Is that a question because you want to have sex, or do you really want to know?” He inquired.

“I really want to know,” she laughed.  “It sounds so pretty.”

“It should,” Voryk smiled over at her.  “It means beautiful love, cara mia.”

“Cara mia?”

“My dear,” Voryk answered with a wolfish grin.  “That’s two you owe me now.”
