November means fall weather, serious football and Thanksgiving. It also means NaNoWriMo.
NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. The object is to write a 50,000 word novel between Nov. 1 and midnight, Nov. 30th.
Tough, but do-able.
Last year was my first year to participate. I didn’t achieve the goal, but I made some progress on a book I had been kicking around. Still haven’t finished that one yet but I plan to. I have decided to use NaNoWriMo as a much-needed butt kicking each year. I don’t like deadlines, but I do like the sense of guilt committing to something this large instills in me. It tends to makes me focus on what it REALLY important (NOT the dusting and NOT the basket weaving).
So… I am just warning you guys that I will be boring you with updates each week of my word count. I figure if I have to report my writing progress, I’m more likely to do it JUST so I don’t have to say “uh… well… there was this thing that came up.”
